Submission Guidelines
The Journal of Transnational American Studies (JTAS) encourages both established and emerging scholars to submit manuscripts throughout the year. Anyone may submit an original article to be considered for publication provided she or he owns the copyright to the work being submitted or is authorized by the copyright owner or owners to submit the article.
We accept manuscripts on an ongoing basis through our online submission process. Please click the "Submit Article to this Journal" button and indicate "Article" when prompted for "Type of Submission."
To guarantee full consideration for Fall issues, submissions should be received by June 15th and for Winter/Spring issues by November 1st.
Manuscripts and submissions should:
- range between 6,000-8,000 words, including endnotes and bibliography,
- follow the Chicago Manual of Style, 16th edition, (or MLA Style Manual, if more appropriate for the author's field of study), and
- include an abstract (not to exceed 250 words) and keywords.
