Aim and Scope

Queer Cats Journal of LGBTQ Studies is a subsidiary of the student organization, Queer Graduate Students (Q-Grads) of UCLA. Since 2014, Q-­Grads of UCLA has worked to promote, engage and shed critical light on LGBTQ scholarship. Q-Grad’s academic activism is primarily realized through the organization of UCLA’s annual Queer Graduate Student Conference that brings together innovative research.

As an interdisciplinary publication, Queer Cats Journal features scholarship from a diverse range of academic fields, including, but not limited to: Anthropology, Ethnic Studies, Fine Art and Art History, Gender Studies, LGBTQ Studies, Literary Studies, Political Science, Public Policy, Religious Studies, Sexuality Studies, Sociology, Transgender Studies.
