The Institute for International, Comparative, and Area Studies (IICAS) promotes interdisciplinary collaboration and research on international, comparative, and cross-regional topics. Building on substantial existing strengths in international studies at UCSD, IICAS coordinates and supports the research of faculty in departments, area studies programs, and the Graduate School of International Relations and Pacific Studies. It is closely associated with undergraduate and graduate education in international studies, including Eleanor Roosevelt College and the international studies major, whose program offices are housed at the Institute.
