Privacy Policy

As a service of the California Digital Library, eScholarship conforms to the CDL's privacy policy, which users are encouraged to read.

The CDL requires that individuals provide the following information in order to register for an account with the eScholarship submission and publishing system:

• First name
• Last name
• Institution
• Academic Unit
• Email Address
• Password

Per the CDL's privacy policy, this information falls under the category of "Personally Identifiable Information" (PII) and as such the CDL treats it with the appropriate level of security. User data is kept on a secure server and all passwords are encrypted. Data is retained until the account holder (or authorized proxy) requests account deletion.
